Description

Start from the beach volley-ball pitch, close to the summer pool, at the heart of Valmorel ski station (1380m).

A first steep hill under the tree-top rope park takes you to an easy going path through alpine pastures, forests and agricultural lands until the Bachals refuge. After few hundred meters along a forest track, begin to climb up to the Col du Gollet (1980m) on the “hunter’s path”.

At this point (6.2km), the roads split between the Crève-Tête trail and the Cascades du Morel trail.

At the Gollet Col, follow the pebbled road down to the top of the Pierrafort chair lift (1835m), one of the busiest areas of the resort in winter times. Keep going down towards the spectacular Morel waterfalls and pass right beneath them before taking on the second difficult ascent of the trail. Climb up to the top of the Altispace chairlift by following a track nested within typical mountain plants for 1.8km and 140m+.

Right before reaching the Altispace, take a right hand turn and take the downhill path which has a few technical difficulties and is named the “51 bends”; appreciated by locals, its name comes from the many turnings it has.
