St André's Church in Doucy
Until the mid 15th century, the parish was under the provostship of Saint-Gilles-de-Verrès in the Aosta Valley.
The naves of this hall church comprise three bays with groin vaulting: in 1859, the Artari brothers, painters from the Aosta Valley, enhanced the central nave with decoration depicting the four evangelists surrounded by four prophets. Jacques Clérant and Claude Marin crafted the main altarpiece in 1698, in the centre of which is a painting by Gnifeta (1859) showing the suffering of St Andrew: around him are wreathed columns with vine branches and angel caryatids. These are supporting an entablature topped with a Christ on the cross, flanked by Mary and St John. Cherubs are showing the instruments of the Passion or gathering the blood in chalices. In 1708, Jacques Clérant and an unknown author sculpted the rosary altarpiece in Naïve style. Two wreathed columns with a climbing rose frame the sculpted panel of a Virgin with Child, accompanied by St Dominic and St Catherine of Siena. An array of paintings grace the side aisles.

St André's Church in Les Avanchers-Valmorel
St André's Church was built in 1676, where a previous building had once stood, most probably from the 13th century. This Baroque-style church has retained the former Romanesque-style bell tower, which used to house four bells up until the French Revolution. Today, only three remain, two of which were cast in the 19th century and one which dates back to 1613, as you can read on an engraved inscription. - History

He has safeguarded this heritage over the years, and showcased its wealth, by looking after artefacts and documents of all kinds (most of which are loans or donations from other residents, and the remainder of which were bought by the founder himself), to hikers and visitors to the village curious to know more about mountain life in the old days.

Recommandations
If in doubt, you can take an introductory lesson in how to ride an electric bike with an instructor.
If you see a herd ahead, slow down and go round it. If there is a patou, a guard dog, climb down from your bike and walk, pushing it alongside you. Avoid making any sudden or aggressive gestures towards the dog and move away from the herd slowly and calmly. The dog will only be checking that you do not pose a threat to its herd. Respect the parkland and close gates behind you after you've gone through them.
The mountain is living, please respect it by staying on the paths and tracks.
